Why We Welcome All Who Identify as Women
At Recovered Humans Recovery Homes and Support Services, we believe that recovery should be rooted in belonging, dignity, and inclusion. That means meeting people exactly where they are—and honoring who they are.
Our homes were built to create safe, empowering spaces for people navigating early recovery. That safety extends not just to sobriety and structure, but to identity, gender expression, and the lived experience of being a woman.
That’s why our doors are open to anyone who identifies as a woman.
Recovery Is Personal—and So Is Identity
For many, the journey to recovery includes reclaiming lost or hidden parts of ourselves. For some, that includes finding the courage to live authentically in their gender identity—often for the first time.
At Recovered Humans, we don’t gatekeep womanhood.
We support:
Cisgender women
Trans women
Non-binary individuals who feel safest in a women-centered space
Gender nonconforming people who identify with the female experience
Recovery is already hard enough. No one should have to fight for a seat at the table just because of how they identify.
Why It Matters
Inclusion isn’t just a policy—it’s a core value. When we say “safe space,” we mean safe for every woman.
Substance use disorder doesn’t discriminate. Neither does trauma. Many of the people we serve have faced rejection, discrimination, or violence—sometimes at the hands of the very systems meant to protect them. We are here to offer something different.
A place to land. A place to heal. A place to belong.
Community Over Comparison
We don’t just tolerate differences in our homes—we celebrate them. The women who come through our doors have wildly different stories, backgrounds, and identities. What they share is a desire to stay sober, heal in community, and reclaim their lives.
We’ve seen it time and time again: when we lift one another up—regardless of identity—we all rise.
Our Commitment
We will continue to educate ourselves and our teams on best practices in gender-affirming care
We will maintain inclusive language and policies in all our materials and messaging
We will never make someone prove their womanhood to access recovery
Because here, you’re already enough.
In Recovery, Everyone Deserves a Place to Be Fully Seen
If you identify as a woman and are looking for a safe, structured, and empowering environment to begin or continue your recovery journey, Recovered Humans is here for you. You are welcome. You are valid. And you are not alone.
