Recovery Month 2025
Finding Hope, Healing, and Community in Sober Living
Every September, people across the country come together to celebrate National Recovery Month—a time to honor the millions of Americans living in recovery, raise awareness about substance use treatment, and share resources for those still seeking help.
At Recovered Humans Recovery Homes & Support Services, Recovery Month is more than a campaign. It’s a reminder of why we exist: to create safe, supportive environments where women can rebuild their lives, free from substances, with dignity and compassion.
Why Recovery Month Matters
Addiction can feel isolating, but the truth is, recovery is possible—and it looks different for everyone. Recovery Month shines a light on the many pathways people take, from treatment centers and sober living homes to peer support groups and recovery coaching. It reminds us that no one has to walk this road alone.
For families searching for answers, Recovery Month is also an opportunity to learn about available resources. Whether you’re looking into sober living homes in Colorado, exploring treatment aftercare options, or trying to understand what “90 meetings in 90 days” really means, this month is a gateway to education and support.
The Role of Sober Living in Recovery
After completing treatment, many people wonder: What’s next? The transition back into daily life can be overwhelming. That’s where sober living comes in.
Sober living homes provide:
Accountability through curfews, drug and alcohol testing, and structured house rules.
Community support from peers who understand the challenges of early sobriety.
Recovery routines like attending meetings, working with sponsors, or completing outpatient treatment.
Practical life skills that prepare women for independence—budgeting, employment, and setting healthy boundaries.
At Recovered Humans, our homes—Amethyst, Onyx, and Jasper—are designed specifically for women. We believe recovery thrives in an environment of safety, honesty, and encouragement.
A Personal Story of Hope
I (LB, founder of Recovered Humans) know firsthand how critical safe housing is in recovery. Before moving to Colorado, I lived in a run-down sober living home where I felt judged, unsafe, and unwelcome. When I relapsed there, I was given 15 minutes to leave at 2 a.m. with nowhere to go.
Not long after, I overdosed—and that could have been the end of my story. But it wasn’t.
I got sober in November 2015, and since then I’ve been on a mission to build the opposite of what I experienced: recovery homes that never give up on women. Homes where relapse doesn’t mean rejection, but redirection. Homes where women are reminded every day that their lives matter.
Support Beyond Housing
Sober living is just one piece of the recovery journey. That’s why our team also offers:
Recovery Coaching – Certified coaches, all in sustained recovery themselves, who walk alongside women through the ups and downs.
Transportation Services – Safe, sober rides to and from treatment centers, medical appointments, and airports.
Sober Companions – For those who need extra accountability, our coaches can travel with women to ensure they arrive safely to treatment.
Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens when resources are accessible and compassionate.
